SYHA Players in the Pros
Beau Erickson - Erickson played three seasons with the Sioux City Metros, from 2001-2004. He was selected for the 2003 IHSHL All-Star game. He had a brief stint with the Sioux City Musketeers before playing three seasons with the University of Connecticut, where he holds the school’s record for saves in a single season. He is currently playing in the East Coast Hockey League for the Ontario Regin.
Chris Porter – Porter played two seasons with the Metros, winning the IHSHL State Championship in 1999. From 2008 to the present, he has gone back and forth playing for the Peoria Riverman (AHL) and the St. Louis Blues (NHL). He made his National Hockey League debut Oct. 10, 2008, against the Nashville Predators and scored his first goal Oct. 18, 2008, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Kyle Rogers – Rogers played one season for the Metros in 2001. After two years in the Ontario Provincial Hockey League, he played for Niagara University from 2005-2008, where he was selected as a member of the College Hockey America conference all-tournament team in his last season. He went on to play two seasons with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), two preseason games with the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), and currently represents the Toledo Walleyes (AHL) as a captain.
